| | BrownSugakc**Summer updates**'s Journals Recent Comments I would like to share some of my thoughts on the subject of being and/or transitoning to being a naptural women. Where I live there are so many negative black people when transtioning to natural is even brought up. This is actually my second time transitioning to natural. The first time was Dec' 05 and I lasted until April '06, the only reason I relaxed again was because of my wanting to get extensions. Anywho, during that first transition I had told both of my beautician that I will be going natural (yes, I have two, one does a great Mizani relaxer and the other does great styles. Typical where I live just can't seem to find one that can do both) Well there reactions were the same, Why are you going to do that? Your hair is so pretty why would you wanna look like that? My reply would be look like what? Just because someone is going to be natural doesn't mean that they are going to look like a funky mess. And contrary to peoples beliefs natural doesn't mean ugly. I feel so sorry for black people sometimes, because we can't even accept our ownselves for being beautiful for who we are. My opinion is that you are going to look gorgeous no matter what texture your hair is relaxed or natural. I am just so tired of people hatin' on natural hair. If that is what I want to do then let me do it. Support me! don't be uppity.
Since I have been on this site I have seen women wear their hair beautiful and professional. Now I am not going to front, I am the type of woman who does not like a lot of crazy styles, but I believe that I can be simple with my natural hair just as i was with relaxed hair. Besides the less money that I have to spend going to and uppity beauticain the more I will keep on smiling with my nappy self, okayyyy:)!
