| | April Updates --Urban Flavored Teen's Journals Recent Comments My hair was extremely soft after I first used it. But, remind me to never ever substitute corn starch with flour and never use castor oil instead of olive. The Castor oil felt like heavy wax in my hair and even when I tried to wash it out of my hair, even my hands, I failed terribly. The flour and oil left white specks in my hair and I had to rinse my hair two extra times along with a comb, to get it out. lol. But I am happy with the results. I now have a silk scarf on my hair, laying down my curls. I hope that when I wake up, my hair is still as soft as it was when I first did the treatment, about an hour ago. Do I recommend this treatment? Yes. Just not with my oil and cornstarch substitutes. Is it a natural relaxer? Not at all. Not for me anywho. If anything, it actually defined my curls and made them tres soft. There are many diff versions of this treatment and maybe a different one will effect my hair differently. I'm probably gonna be a bit too winded to even write this tomorrow, so I'm gonna write it today.
Last time I washed my hair was Saturday, and I'm washin it on Tuesday. I usually only wash once a week, but the weather is getting warmer and with my new work out plan of cardio 4 times a week, I sweat. So I'm washing it whenever I feel like it's getting dirty.
My cardio is Mon, Weds, Friday and Sunday this week. I'd just like to share with you all what I do before and after I wash my hair.
Detangling in the shower, I find a bit difficult. My curlies are really hard to get through and they snag onto my wide toothed comb no matter what, so I'm considering getting that Goody brush everyone is raving about. Until then, I usually detangle with my FINGERS. & it works fine for now. I only detangle when I want to braid or twist my hair.
First thing I do is shampoo with my Mud & Clay bar from Chagrin Valley. or my Bodacious Beauty bar from Karen's Body Beautiful. I rinse and then I use John Master's Organics Avocado and Lavender intensive conditioner, adding a bit of honey to it. I leave that in for about 4 or 5 minutes while I scrub my body down and I rinse it out with cold water. After I'm done with my shower, I shake my hair and get rid of the extra water only by shaking and I continue on with moisturizing it with KBB hair nectar. From there, it's onto my twists or braids, using coconut oil as my scalp grease/sealant and making sure I get those ends and scalp covered in it; not so much the hair itself.
Next morning I unravel my twists or braids, pick it out with my fingers a bit and add in some Cranberry Cocktail hair butter from KBB. I do sleep with a satin scarf, but I'm gonna have to buy a bonnet of some sort, because although I have no problems using it on my twists and braids, it flattens my hair badly (Gotta big, heavy head lol).
Thanks for reading, hope this satisfied any curiosity if you had some. Yesterday I didn't get a chance to work out, and yesterday was work out day. Now I have to work out today instead AND tomorrow. I ended up attending a cello and viola concert with my friend Rashiek. We walked around quite a bit, so I hope that contributed to a bit of exercise. Sunday is weigh in day, so wish me luck! When I first started on april 14th, I was 160.8 lbs and on the 20th I became 158.2.
Start weight: 160.8 Goal weight: 130 lbs Current weight: 158.2 Weight loss: 2.4 lbs Weight left: 27.6lbs Weeks left to complete goal: 10 weeks
Okay I ran out of my 100% aloe vera juice by Aubrey Organics. My face regimen was
Mornings: Steam cleanse with hot rag over face Apply aloe vera with cottonball as a toner Apply coconut oil as a sunscreen.
Evenings: Apply warm honey to the face Wash off with cold water. Apply lemon juice with a cottonball
Now Cold green tea will be replacing the aloe vera in the morning. and one time a week I exfoliate my face with baking soda in the morning, usually on Sunday, after my morning steam cleanse.
Everyone has been saying how my skin is so soft and supple and SMOOTH. Even my dark marks from the bad acne are going away. | | |
