I've made mistakes in my life
I've let people take advantage of me,
And I accepted way less than I deserve.
But I learned from my bad choices and
Even though there are some things I can never
get back and people who will never be sorry.
I'll know better next time and...
I won't settle for anything less than I deserve.

If you're lucky

Every once in a while people step up, they rise above themselves. Sometimes they surprise you, and sometimes they fall short. Life is funny sometimes, it can push pretty hard, but if you look close enough you find hope in the words of children, in the bars of a song and in the eyes of someone you love. And if you're lucky, and if you're the luckiest person on this entire planet, the person you love decides to love you back.

There's no shame in being afraid

There's no shame in being afraid. Hell, we're all afraid. What you gotta do is figure out what you're afraid of, because when you put a face on it you can beat it. Better yet, you can use it. Looking back on what I said all those years ago, all the hopes and dreams I had, I've come to the conclusion that if having things turn out the way you wanted them to is a measure of a successful life, then some would say I'm a failure.
