In my view $50.00 (or even better the current $30.00 special) is a really good price for the service that www.Fotki.com offers. Actually it is really amazing when you make a list of all the features and options.

I have been doing this for over 10 years now and have used, Ofoto (now Kodak), Sony Image Station, ShutterBug, Snapfish, PhotoWorks, Yahoo Photos, an Hp photosite, an Adobe Active Sharesite, Flip Album, Angelfire, Webshots and more until about 4 years ago I found out about www.Fotki.com thru a link from www.DPreview.com

I wish I had followed that link years before when I first saw it because it was the best thing that I ever did regarding choosing a Photo Website.

Here is what I found out. Some of these sites are still free, including Fotki's Free Service. But they all have to make money somehow (it's a business) and if it's not from the client it is then from advertising. If a free account is your main criteria for a photo sharing website then you will have to pick one and deal with what comes along with that territory. My observation is that Fotki's free service outshines all the rest by far due to its unique features, options, customer support and amount of free space offered.

However, for the price tag of $50.00 a year, currently on special for $30.00 per year, the Premium Fotki Experience can't be even closely matched.

Here are just a few points;
1. Totally Unlimited Storage Space
2. Nested Folders and Albums whereupon one can catagorically organize their entire photo collection in a virtually unlimited number of ways.
3. Loads of options regarding every facet of photo storage and visual presentation.
4. A User-Friendly Interface with Slide shows, Expandable Journals using catagories, Guestbook, Photo Comments, A Welcome Page, A Link Page, An About Me Page, A What's New Page, A Statistics Page, A Cumulative Friends List and Friends-of list, Tagging, Search, Maps-Geotagging that works with www.GoogleEarth.com , A Fotki E-mail Account, A Fotki Personal Server Feature and Application, Editing of all kinds, Photo Contests with rewards, ability to sell your photos online, ability to buy 4x6 prints for .9 cents (and they are great I get them), Co-Branding, default or fully customizable themes and appearance and (Whew!!!) the list goes on and on and on...

So if you, your family and friends and all the other people that you share your PhotoWeb Experience with don't mind advertising in the pages, are ok with Sponsor Banners,, don't get bothered by pop-ups,,, and you don't have a problem with your friends and family having to sign into or up for the photoweb company you are using in order to create an account in order to view the pictures you just sent them (this is the case with quite a few) just go there... It should work fine, until they go out of business and you have to start over. (Happened twice to me and lost everything.)

As for me, Well, Let's Just Say I found a "Home" with www.Fotki.com GaryGS1 in Nj-USA

PS... I even re-directed my Yahoo/SmallBusiness Domain and Website to go Directly to My Fotki... try it
