2006-09-04 0:26 Well,,, almost home at last,,, long day '-) overnighting at Anita and Ed's,,, they came at got me at the airport. Bob, Myra and I got up at 5 AM Sunday to get me to the airport (thanks guys '-) And all went well at the airport in Edinburgh!!! However, all the additional security checks made me and many others miss the connecting flight to Phila,,, soooooooo,,, I got hooked up with a flight to Boston from Paris and then to Phila!!! Arrived Phila 10 PM EST. (3 AM Scotland time) so it's been 22 hours getting home '-) I am ready to put my head down '-) but first I wanted to link all the great photos from my Fotki Friends Pages... (See the Limks below and see you soon!!! Cheers,,, Gary) The last 3 weeks traveling aronund Northern Europe have been awesome!! I appologize for any lack of keeping in touch,,, available internet time is usually short when traveling as you can imagine!!! I started in Holland, then Belgium, then Denmark, Sweden, Norway and now I am finishing up in Scotland... It has been a wonderfull and rewarding experience!!! '-) It's damp with spots of rain throughout the days but if you know me you also know that I make the absolute best of things!!! Getting great windmill and country side shots with amazing clouds in the rear!!! Yesterday Viviane and I crossed the border into Belgium by train to visit her home city of Antwerpen!!! What a great city with a fantastic Cathedral and a Lovely Square with lots of people out enjoying food, drink and the social atmosphere. Also visited the house where the Flemmish painter Peter Paul Reubens lived. Dutch Cheese is Fantastic and great breads too!!! Then wonderfull red wines to wash it all down... Thanks to all for wonderfull comments and entries. Internet time is always short when traveling so I am sorry that I cannot reply to all your messages but I see them and and it's putting a big smile on my face... '-) Tomorrow (Friday) I leave Vivianes part of the world for Brussels, Belgium where I have booked a hostel for 17 Euros for the night (about 22 bucks) includes breakfast. Saturday evening I will take a night train to Hannover, Germany where I will meet up with Stein at 6AM and we wil continue North via his car to Denmark / Sweden / Norway. On Monday 28 of August I fly to Abderdeen, Scotland and take a train to Tarbet to visit Irene with a finish in Glasgow, Scotland at Myra and Bobs. Cheers... Gary 2006-06-25 0:58 Planning, Planning,, Planning,,, If one only had all the pieces to the puzzle in the beginning of the trip!!! But then it probably wouldn't be as much fun!!! (A lot less stressfull though '-) I arrive in Amsterdam Friday, August 11th at 12:55. The current plan is that PeterM will meet me at the airport and I'll spend 2 to 3 days with him... Thanks Peter!!! Then off to visit Viviane and Peter in Southern Netherlands and spend 2 to 3 days there. WOW,,, that's almost a week so far!!! Time gets used up FAST!!! But the moments of memories will last a lifetime, I'm sure!!! I Have not heard from Stein in awhile but we are supposed to team up and visit Norway together!!! Remember "Stein is a Norwegian living in Germany" So this should be interesting as well. Our plan was to visit Denmark on the way up but I'm not sure how long we will be in Norway???
