So it's the beginning of September, and after 3 weeks of the big chop, and after 5 months of transitioning before that, im finally able to cornrow my hair! I kinda got tired of wearing a little curly afro, so Im glad i can braid it. My hair is growing sooo fast! Im so excited about that, but my husband isn't so excited for me. He doesn't like me with short hair, and he thinks this natural hair thing is just a phase or something, but he is sooo wrong. I guess he'll figure it out after a while! lol Anyways, im so fascinated with my newly natural hair. I never knew it could be so pretty, and I can't wait to experiment with new hair styles! Ive received alot of inspiration from fotki, when i was transitioning. I was soo afraid to go natural because I didn't know how my family would react (now i know...) lol and i thought short hair would look funny on me because I have a round face, but I just took the scissors (can't spell) in my shakey hand and started snipping. Afterward I felt like a new person, and i COULD NOT stop playin with my curls! I just kept pullin' on them and feeling them, because it really was my first time feeling my natural hair. CRAZY, but I don't know why more people don't go natural. Alot of people I know are afraid of natural hair, because they don't have the patience to manage it, or there still in that "white is right" state of mind, you know where you have to have that straight, flowy, swingy, NOT NAPPY, hair. So so sad... maybe I can inspire them to change there minds about it! I really think im out of thoughts right now about natural hair so until next time! dueces! 9/3/2007
