End of Scandinavian Summer Adventure

The Scandinavian summer adventure has come to an end after 14000 kilometers. Now it is time to organise the photos and dream about all the fantastic places.

Flam

Hi Everyone

Finally reached Flam, close to Bergen. This is in this region where I previously tried out the "FORMAT" button on my new camera. I will stay away from that button this time!!!

I have reached 11 000 kilometres! I was thinking my journey would take 8000 kilometres. Well it adds up in such beautiful surroundings.

Just a weekend in Norway left and then back to Sweden for another week.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Gypsy

PS. Snappie send his regards to all, and has great news, he has seen some "moose" and "mees"! We will upload photos as soon as possible!

Tranoy

Hi Everyone

I am back in Bodo after a very scenic tour to Tranoy, north of Bodo.

The wild berries are ready for picking, so yesterday I picked blue berries. That ended up with pancakes and cream and made a perfect dessert. I also had another fishing experience in Solfjord. Only one fish this time. The sunset was fantastic!

Next on the list is Lofoten. Still have to check the ferry schedule and then the journey continues again.

Have a wonderful week!

Gypsy

PS. Snappie now has a troll to play with, so no more complains about not seeing any mooses!

Fjord Fishing

Hi Everyone

I have arrived in a rainy Bodo today after spending a lovely few days in the north of Norway. I went all the way north to the North Cape. The road and continent ended on a steep cliff and I had to turn back again.

I am now travelling south down the Norwegian coast.

Last night I went fishing in a fjord and caught 4 fishes! Three were big enough to eat and one went back to the water. But a seagull got it before it could dive into the deep water.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Gypsy

PS. Snappie didn't go fishing, he was too scarred of the giant orcas that he has seen on photos! :-)

Tromso

Hi Everyone

Today we have arrived in Norway and staying in Tromso for the night. From here the journey continues to Nordkapp.

After 24 hours of rain in Kiruna the weather has cleared up again and we had a scenic few days in Abisko National Park. Today the sky was bright and blue travelling to Norway.

Enjoy your weekend!

Gypsy

PS. Snappie hasn't seen one single moose in the whole of Sweden or rather the 8000 kilometres that we have covered. We did see a moose farm and made a stop. It was 17h15 and the park closed at 17h00. The man wouldn't let us in even for one photo! Snappie thinks it is because there are no mooses, just reindeer disguised as mooses at the park, or maybe more moose-quitos!!! :-)

Ice Hotel

Hi Everyone

Finally in Kiruna, Lappland.

The north of Sweden is so beautiful! I don't want to leave again.

Today had a short stop in Jukkasjarvi where I visited the Ice Hotel last year February. All the snow and the hotel is gone, melted back into the river. It was so strange to see ... nothing!

Another week in Sweden and then crossing the border to Norway, to head even further north to NorddKapp.

Take care and hope you enjoy the photos of Snappie's Scandinavian summer so far!

Hi Everyone

Snappie and I are having a great time in Sweden!

Anne-Marie has published some photos of Snappie´s visit to the Gota Kanal.

We have reached Umea and will visit the city tommorow and then we head inland again to Arjeplog.

Take care!

Gypsy

PS. Still no sign of mooses! But Snappie did see a picture of a Viking yesterday!

Midsummer

Hi Everyone

A quick hallo from public internet.

Midsummer was fantastic! Lots of sunshine and flowers and dancing around the maypoles. Dalarna is a very scenic part of Sweden and the camera was clicking constantly!

Had a fair share of rain as well. But not to worry I took my giant umbrella and rain jacket in order not to miss a minute of the fun.

The journey to the north will start this week. A long long drive!

Take care and I will keep in touch!

Gypsy

PS. Snappie has seen lots of trees and lakes, but no moose yet!
