| | MummysGirl ** 3 Years Post Relaxer **'s Journals Recent Comments Okay, seriously... from this week(beg. 14th Jan '08), I'll start with this prepoo mix 2ce a week:
1. Molasses 2. Castor Oil 3. Garlic 4. Vatika Oil 5. Amla Oil 6. EVOO
The Garlic is to stop shedding, Castor Oil for thickness, especially my edges(I'll put up images of those too) and the reason for the molasses is umm... MedMunky uses a similar mix so I wanna try it out, LOL!
I will apply the prepoo mix to my edges, scalp(mostly the problem areas) and my hair...
My scalp itches once in a while and I don't believe in - that's a sign it's growing. I hope oiling my scalp with the prepoo mix will stop this itching...
P.S. The Garlic will only be in my scalp mix, I don't want to put it all over my hair because of the STRONG, LINGERING smell it has...
Regime: Prepoo, as described above Wash with Shikakai or Aritha Soap(Hesh Brand) on one wash day AND Wash with Tresemme Remoisturising Conditioner on second wash day(*I am going to try this out next wash and see if cowashing will finally work for me*) DC with Mane n Tail Mix AND/OR Keracare Humecto(*Still working on this*) Rollerset OR Cheat Rollerset OR Airdry then braid out OR Airdry and bun
***** HAIR******* ------------------------ A friend of mine sent me some links to LHF, BHM and some hair albums... McElwee Wife, SistaSlick,MsKibibi, DontSpeakDefeat and quite a few others have been my inspiration. I'm a member of BHM...
I would love to have very healthy, full, bouncy, yummy(LOL) APL hair.
I just started my new regime at the beginning of August 2007(So my official one year anniversary is August 2008, that seems so far away!). I'm still trying to find what suits me... I bought Ultra Black Hair Growth II by Cathy Howse in October 2007 and I am using it as a guideline... my regime is still changing:
- Wash and DC twice a week
MID WEEK AND SUNDAY: -------------------------------------- 1. **Mid Week** Co-wash with SUave Humectant, DC with ORS Replenishing Conditioner(mixed with Coconut Oil and Peppermint Oil) for 15-20 minutes ***********
**Sunday** 1. Prepoo with Amla Oil, Vatika, Jojoba, Castor Oils and EVOO(same mix with garlic and molasses for my scalp)
2.Wash with Shikakai Soap DC with ORS Replenishing Conditioner(mixed with Coconut Oil and Peppermint Oil) for 15-20 minutes *********** 3. Leave In- Nexxus Humectress+Headdress. 5. Airdry(Put up in a ponytail for a 20 minutes, lay down with scarf... then leave down for the rest of the drying time) 6. Moisturise with Mango Butter or Shea Butter(Pure) on Ends and Seal with Jojoba Oil 7. Baggy
**On Rollerset Days, I only apply Nexxus Humectress to wet hair, no Mango Butter... I apply Mango Butter only when my hair is dry**
CLARIFY WHEN REQUIRED --------------------------------------- Wash with Tresemme Nexxus Aloe Rid Shampoo, let shampoo sit in my hair for a few minutes, rinse out Apply Roux Porosity Control for a few minutes(Got this idea from Wildfire) DC and airdry as normal
NO HEAT except during deep conditioning with hooded dryer I moisturise morning and night I baggy my tips most nights(mango butter and jojoba oil) and use a satin scarf at night.
**Protein reconstructor(Keracare Super Reconstructor(Deep), Aphogee 2 minute)(as required)**
HENNA ONCE A MONTH ------------------------------------ Mix: Henna, Alma Powder and Water.
SUPPLEMENTS ------------------- I take Multivitamins and Minerals(Biotin is included), Flax Seed Oil, Cod Liver Oil and Vitamin C
I tried MN as a topical growth aid but my scalp was itchy so I stopped... I also tried ORS templa balm - scalp was peeling... so no topical growth aids for me...
RELAXER (NO MORE AS I AM TRANSITIONING) ----------- Touch up every 15+ weeks
Relaxer: Affirm Fibreguard. I think it needs to be applied more generously. Rinse out relaxer after 25 minutes. Apply Aphogee 2 minute reconstructor for 5 minutes Shampoo with Neutralizing shampoo at least 5 times. One of the times, I let it sit on the hair for 5 minutes before rinsing out. Apply Roux Porosity Control for 5 minutes. Deep Condition. Airdry as usual.
*****FITNESS******** ------------------------------ I do quite a lot of running and exercise. This is a little challenging for my relaxed hair because I sweat on my scalp 5 times a week and can't comb or style my sweaty hair without a lot of care. | | |
