I went natural the first time in 2000. I am a plus size girl so my husband at the time told me that I was his "Jill Scott"! Plus, I was never good at curling my hair.
I started wearing braids and cornrows. Did that for a while and would wear my hair loose (once the braids came out).
I went back to the perm! in 2005. uggh! Hated it!
Did the big chop this time September 2008.
I am back where I started and learning all types of new ways to wear my hair and to style it!
Truly loving every minute of it!
As soon as my son comes home - I will take some better photos - so you can see how I sport a TWA!
I found a recipe on napturality.com. It has 3 parts curl activator 1 part shea butter and 1 part cocoa butter!
Melt the butters and wisk into the curl activator! This stuff is so good to my hair! I love the definiton of my curls and the moisture it provides to my hair!
Will post some pictures today!
I have been stalking around np.com and haven't really found my "hair twin". I notice that alot of the people fuss about detangling their hair. I don't really have that issue. My hair has never tangled. I am really curious about henna. I have asked around and not really gotten any solid answers. I was just curious if henna was a conditioner or hair color?
I don't think I will trust it as a hair color for now. More research for me. I am learning though, what works for me.
So far, I love the baking soda clarifier and the acv rinse. My hair is so soft after both - it feels totally crazy.
I love Miss Jessie's buttercreme- I like the regular one not the baby buttercreme. The minty aroma is working my scalp! I have also tried some home made concoction. More details on that later. I will be making a few more this weekend.
I am in the process of getting some twists put in my hair more like the baby twists featured on khamitkinks.com
I will have to take some pictures so everyone can get a glimpse of the magic that is my hair!
I am having a major problem with dry hair! I am not really sure what to do about it. My hair feels so dry- like it is the sahara dessert. I am on my way to nc and np.com - let me post it to the experts!
Me
I love to lurk around np.com and nc.com. Curly Nikki should also know, I am a huge fan! As, I have gotten my cyber stalk on, I have been turned into a Product Junkie!
I will try anything once. My camera is broken, so please just take my word on it!
My hair doesnt like the following: aloe vera gel, coconut oil, vegetable glycerin or the baking soda wash. My hair becomes hard and brittle when using these.
My hair is still taking a vote on Miss Carol's daughter Hair butter- can we do something about the smell- kind of musky- seems a little to masculine for me!
My hair likes the following: Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Jojoba Oil, apple cider rinse, miss jessies buttercreme.
I am trying to develop a hair regime.
One of the things I do daily is spritz my hair with my hair growth formula:
It consists of Olive Oil, Castor Oil, Jojoba Oil and Peppermint Oil. My hair loves the tingle. It may sound crazy but my hair is growing and it loves this concotion.
I am also trying plopping- My hair loves this. Plopping is placing your wet hair in a tshirt- not drying with a towel! My hairs... luh uh oves! this.
My curls have definition like you wouldnt belive!
I am ordering the part for my camera- so you can see it --- tomorrow! Cant wait! Woo- hoo!
Stay tuned for the pictures - I promise they ae coming soon!
