I was so excited I could hardly sleep last night. What a wally! I'm glad I packed last night, and thank goodness for coffee!! We left Bathurst for Canberra just after 1 pm and arrived in Canberra around 4:30 pm. An uneventful trip except for two hairy overtaking manoeuvres – one overtaking a B Double truck, the other a truck loaded to the gunwales with hay bales in the rain. We checked in to the Rydges Eagle Hawk Resort. As we drove to our cabin a large grey kangaroo hopped across our path. The cabin is set amongst 130 acres of native bush, so I’m hoping to get some good wildlife shots in the mornings.
