12:08 AM Thursday Morning
The dinner cruise was fantastic, they had a band, a grand piano, electronic drums, a really hot bass player and the singer was a lot of fun.
The meal was excellent, the views of the city were great, the only drawback is that my camera seems to be broken. Alex took a photo of me and that seems to be what did the damage! I can't adjust any of the settings, shutter, aperture, flash, exposure adjustment, nada, nyet, nothing, zippo. It's still working on Auto so that will have to do for the next two days. A definite bummer though because I'll need the longer exposures in the aquarium this morning.
Last time I let Alex take a photo of me that's for sure - it's too expensive!! That's me signing off for the day!!

Yeah, blame the wife! typical! LOL
I told you to skip diner! LOL
But hey, don't let this spoil th holiday Mate!
Peter...maybe this is a stupid idea but I had the same thing with my old camera and this is what did the trick for me:
simply Reset the camera, Format the CF or whatever you use, switch off the camera and switch it on again. At that point it worked again for me! Later I found out I must have changed settings by accident...it might have been on Delay...and then it seems like it does not work...
Just check that first...you never know...I will have my thumbs up! The guy in the shop told me these digis are sometimes a pain in the (you know where!) and also unpredictable sometimes...It does not cost you a thing to try it...does it???

wrote: Friday, July 7, 2006 2:26 PM I'll certainly try it. I reset everything and took all the batteries out and turned it off and on again to no avail but I didn't format the card - a 4 Gig microdrive so I'll try that first, I may as well try everything before I send it off eh. Thanks for the tip. I was a bit sad about it at first but then I thought the same thing - I'm not going to let ANYTHING spoil my holiday, I'm having so much fun, and it is STILL working on auto so I can get some shots!
