I'm about 3 inches from BSL in the front of my hair, and an inch in the back from BSL. I don't have a goal length anymore due to my hair growing ahead of my schedule. My plan was to get to MBL in the back and BSL in the front by Aug. 2010, but it looks like I will be ahead of schedule maybe 4 to 3 months.
I'm almost 8 weeks post. I'm trying to stretch to 16 weeks, but I will go a min of 12 weeks and every week after I will have to see how long I can handle my NG. I've been co-washing my hair every 3 days and wet bunning/bagging my ends right after. I lay my hair flat by using FOTE aloe vera gel on wet hair. The longer I stretch, the only hair styles to help me along are buns and braid-outs. I don't have a problem with tangles too much anymore because I do all my styling on wet/damp hair. I only comb on wet/damp hair with lots of leave-in and butter. I don't seal my hair with oil anymore, I use natural butters such as mango, avocado, and shea melt together, and occasionally will add oil to the mix. I add oil to almost everything. I add castor, avocado, or olive oil to my pre-poo conditioners or honey.
I use direct heat once every 6 to 8 weeks when I feel like wearing my hair straight or doing a length check, so 90% of the time my hair is wet/damp in my baggie bun.
I didn't go past 9 weeks this time due to having to go to a party and I really didn't feel like wearing a bun. When I got my touch-up I discovered I was between APL, and BSL. I'm about a good 2 1/2 to 3 inches short of being Full BSL in the back, and maybe about 2 inches in the front of being APL. To be on the sure side I will give my hair about 4 inches to catch up to Full BSL in the back, and 3 inches in the front to catch up to APL. So I will say by Nov. 2009 I should be APL/BSL, that's 8 months of really protecting, and moisturizing my hair. I'm not playing, so I know I will achieve it by then. NO TRIMMING until I get to MBL in the back, and BSL in the front.
I really don't like wearing my hair out anymore. Maybe when I get to BSL I will. I think my hair is not longer enough to wear it out safely to avoid getting bad splits, and setbacks. I don't like how my hair gets caught on my bag, and my jacket. It lays down much better now than when I was SL, but I'm too paranoid to wear it out until I get to my goal. I was going to wear my hair out the rest of this week, but I think starting tomorrow I'm going back to my trusty bun (it's kind of like a security measure) Starting next week I will start going back to my Bee Mine, and use that every night, and using MT once a week for protein.
I may do a tutorial, but for right now I'll just write it down
I take a small zip-lock bag, about 2 tablespoons of suave humectant in an old spray bottle, about 1 tablespoon of vegetable glycerin, and full the bottle up with warm water, BB oil moisturizer, or my Shea butter mix, 2 no metal parts ponytail holders, and my oil mixture bottle.
Step 1: Saturate your hair really good with the moisture mix (I part my hair in sections, and spray each section until my hair is really damp, and then detangle from ends to roots with a wide tooth comb)
Step 2: Then I use about a quarter size amount of either my BB, or Shea butter mix and coat my hair really well with that from ends to roots and comb out any tangles with my wide tooth comb.
Step 3: Take about a nickel size of my oil mix and coat my ends and roots with it.
Step 4: Put your hair in a pony tail and use one of the pony tail holders to secure it (make sure you don’t put the holder on too tight, this can cause breakage)
Step 5: Put hair in the zip-lock bag
Step 6: Take the second pony tail holder and secure the bag by wrapping the holder around it like you’re making another pony tail.
I do this 2x a day and this method has really help my hair retain all of its length and thickness!

I'm really thinking about self-relaxing my hair. I been applying my DC with an applicator brush like a relaxer for the past 6 months and feel like I can handle applying my own relaxers. I'm just extremely nervous about doing it because I really don't want to jack my hair up.
I been going to the same salon on and off for over 10 years for all of my professional services. Since I been on LHCF I feel confident that I can do a better job of applying my relaxers than the salon can. I don't like how they rush applying my relaxers and feel that even though they do a good job of trying to not overlap the relaxer, they can do better because sometimes I feel they apply the creme to high up on the parts that are already relaxed. I properly base my scalp and ends, but still get nervous everytime I get a touch-up that they may put the creme too far up on the parts that are already relaxed. It's a good thing that I put about 1/4 to 1/3 of a cup of EVOO to my relaxer to slow down the process.
I'm still debating and will figure out what I'm going to do when I get closer to a touch up (sigh!)

I got my first touch-up of the year on January 3. I was happy to see I was full APL in the back, and full SL in the front. When I look at old pictures of my hair, it shows how far I have come. I started using Bee Mine serum starting Jan. 5 because I was too excited (in the future I will wait 1 week after my touch-up, and stop 2 week b4), and I will be use MT only once or twice a week starting in Jan. 9th. I'm really trying to get to BSL by May 2009. I hope I get at least 3 inches between now and May 2009.

I started my regime on July 26, 2008 and here it is November 13, 2008 and my hair is looking the best it has in my entire life. All those years I was natural don't compare to the thickness and growth I gotten so quicky from just protecting my ends 99% of the time. When I do wear my hair out, it doesn't feel right because I know that puting it in a bag and protecting is the best thing for it. I have retain all of my lenght from when I first started this regime, and on top of that dusted my ends only twice and still grew 2 inches. When I measured my ponytail today I was 8 inches, when about 4 months ago I was only touching 6 inches. My long term goal was to have my ponytail only 12 inches, now I think I'm gonna change that goal to now 16 inches by July 2010.
So I'm on a personal baggie method challenge of two years. The start date was July 2008, and the end date is July 2010. I thought I would get bored with this bunning by September 2008, but seeing results gets me motivated to continue on this hair journey of MBL by July 2010.
I also want to try and stretch my relaxers again, but longer. I'm thinking about 4 months (but that's a BIG maybe.)
