Epcot International Food and Wine Festival 2009. Some of my thoughts.
My father and I have had a pen-pal relationship with a guy named Boris Alishov in St. Petersburg, Russia for a few years. I am fortunate enough to be able to take him up on an offer to visit him. This journal is about my trip to Russia to visit Boris.
This is my flight itenerary for the trip - in case you were wondering.
On the first day of my summer vacation - I rode in cars and sat in an airplane.
Well, I made it! - Here's about my first day and my flights.
We didn't get started early, but we sure had a full day!
We went downtown to see the big city!
We spent a day at the Hermitage Museum
Another trip downtown. This time to St. Isaac's Cathedral and to the Neva. Also went to OVIR and to a Monastary.
We went to Peterhoff by Hydrofoil and got caught in the rain.
Didn't do much of anything but go to church and hang out. I did put some observations in today's journal, though.
We visited the Kazan Cathedral and the Savior on the Blood Cathedral.
Walking around looking at the diverse architecture of the city.
I met Boris friend Yuri and we walked the city. Also, I got a special tour of St. John of Cronstadt's Cathedral.
Final thoughts.
Boris sent me this email after I left.
I went to Stuttgart for Matt and Monika's wedding. Some of the photos are from their camera from the Civil Wedding.
I put my poetry up on a site called www.poets.com however, you need to be a member in order to read it. You can read for free, but it's hard to create links to poetry there.
I decided to give this a try on this site. I hope you enjoy it.
