| | Healing Stone Jewelery Recent Comments Thursday, August 2, 2007 7:28 PM Oh, my goodness! Where has the time gone? Well I took a nasty spill 3 days before Thanksgiving twisting and tearing ligaments and muscles in my left leg and hip, and am still recovering. I have managed to make a few beaded creations and a couple of patterns and tutorials, so I guess it hasn't been a total waste of time. I've also created a web site which I intended to be for my natural skin care products, but having no where else to post my tutorials and patterns they ended up there too. I don't have all my skin care porducts up yet as they are perishable and I don't make them unless I have an order for them, and not being able to get out and market them, I don't have many orders. :( . . but you can see what I have up here. http://www.silvermistgarden.com Tuesday, September 12, 2006 12:32 AM Whew! Told you I wasn't consistant in keeping a journal. Lots has happened since my last entry. I retired in July. Well, started drawing social security. I'm still working 3 days a week. I didn't realize how badly I'd let the house go! Beading was my refuge and I seriously NEEDED refuge after 9 hours of work a day. House and yard look some better. I've learned lots of new stitches and made lots of new jewelery in the time that has passed. Wendy and I are looking forward to having a booth at Grapevine Street Days next spring. You can have multiple types of merchandise, so I'm thinking and planning some soaps and skin care as well as jewelery. I've got lots of ideas for new jewelery. . ."Buttons and Bones" is in my head but design isn't clear. Also "Seriously Twisted" a ladder stitch type bracelet with semi-precious stone loops. Design still not perfected. I need to finish the diagonal RAW necklace I started and probably should finish the Celtic Dragons Tapestry and get Christmas Ornaments started, now that I have all the beads collected. I made a black and white with gold embellishments Drops necklace http://public.fotki.com/beadette2/glass_bead_jewelry/000_1048.html for my boss-lady to wear at the Las Vegas True Serve Market this week. She was exstatic! "It's so beauuuutiful! and it FITS!" She has a hard time finding anything besides a chain with a pendant that won't ride up and twist on her neck. Well I guess I'd better get up and get busy. Thursday, March 23, 2006 8:13 AM Boy you just can't beat West Texas for diverse weather! For the last 2 days it's been winter here. It snowed yesterday for the first time this season. Makes me want to stay home and bead, bead, bead, but I've got to get out and go grocery shopping and pay bills. Pink Lady, pink spiral rope and Bedazzled Beadoodle have been uploaded to the picture files. I haven't seen any more warnings that I was out of space, so I'll just keep adding photos as long as the site will let me. Wednesday, March 15, 2006 9:25 PM Wow! It's been over a month since I sat down to write. In that month I've had 3 of my pieces featured in the Bead Inspired Canada newsletter. Mermaid bag, Spring Crunch, and Amethyst Rope. I'm pretty ebulient about that. I finally finished the pink double dutch spiral, but decided not to put the pendant on it. Instead I made a diagonal peyote chain to put it on. I call it Pink Lady. I'll be uploading it shortly. I've started on a unique piece that I'm going to call dappled shade. The focal point is a moss agate. I don't know what you call the strap. I just saw a picture and thought "I can do that". Well I can't do exactly "that", but I've come close. Still haven't finished Winter Wonderland. It's kind of hard to stay focused on Winter when it's hot, dry and grass fires and winds up to 60 miles an hour are threatening the area. I came to my albums yesterday and had a notice that I didn't have any more available space. When I registered for a website, it said "Unlimited space". Now they're saying you only have 5 MB free, then you have to pay. Humph! I may go looking for anothere site, but there aren't that many free ones with enough space to show very many pictures, even if they're "crunched". Sunday, February 5, 2006 8:44 AM Well here I sit with more ideas racing through my mind than I can fully grasp. I still haven't finished the Winter Wonderland, but did start a pink and grey double dutch rope. I'm going to make a pendant of rose quartz to go on it. It's kind'a hard to stick to the repetitious work of making the rope with all the plans for the pendant running through my mind, but it really is turning out quite nice. I started another album Glass Bead Jewelry, which contains some of my creations that don't have any healing crystals or stones. I'll be adding to that one as well as I get pictures taken. Tuesday, January 31, 2006 8:18 PM I did it! I finished one thing. . .The Fairy Cascade. You can see it in my Healing Stone Jewelery album. Now I have many more ideas percolating through my mind and still need to finish the winter wonderland to make room for another batch of beads on the work table. Oh well one finished project in a week isn't tooooo bad. My son brought my youngest grand daughter over last night. For once my camera was charged up and I actually got some pictures of her. Started a new "family" album. So check that out too. Monday, January 30, 2006 12:02 PM I'm not very consistant in keeping a journal, but sometimes it helps to just sit down and put thoughts on "paper". I'm sitting here wondering should I finish the Fairy cascade necklace I've started, or the Winter Wonderland necklace. . . or maybe I'll make samples of some new designs I have in mind. Oh wait. New designs means clearing space on my work table. Maybe finishing something would be in order. :0 | | |
