Dead Sea Mud Mask Recipes 2

Recipe 2:

Step 1
Place 1/2 cup Dead Sea mud in a mixing bowl. Add 2 drops carrot seed essential oil, 4 drops lavender essential oil and 2 drops sandalwood essential oil. Mix carefully to be sure the essential oils are thoroughly incorporated into the clay. Store the Dead Sea mud mask in a glass bowl or jar.

Step 2
Wash your face with warm water and your favorite cleanser, then dry your skin with a soft towel. Smooth honey under your eyes down to the top of your cheekbones. Honey will hydrate and moisturize as it protects tender skin from the mud mask.
Step 3
Smooth a thin layer of the mud mixture over your face, moving your fingers from the center of your face and working outward. Massage the mud gently into your skin.
Step 4
Allow the Dead Sea mud mask to remain on your skin for five to 15 minutes. The mud should feel partly dry.
Step 5
Soak a washcloth in warm water. Lay the washcloth over your face to soften the mask. Once the mask is softened, rinse your face with warm water. (Ref 3)

Natural: Dead Sea Mud is obtained from the Dead Sea in Israel. It contains a high amount of minerals and salts, minerals that the skin needs in order to help it remain hydrated and healthy. This high concentration of minerals and salts are due to the Dead Sea evaporating every year as long as it is not connected to other bodies of water. The salts and minerals which are present in the water in high amounts are absorbed into the mud which lies at the bottom of the sea. This mud is extracted and the impurities are removed. It is then packaged and sold. The minerals that help the skin maintain the correct moisture levels are magnesium, calcium, potassium, sodium and bromine.

By now you may have heard people talking about Dead Sea mud and how good it is for the skin's health and look. But did you ever wonder what exactly makes something that may seem like ordinary mud so good for you? The answer consists of several reasons, which all combine to make Dead Sea mud one of the healthiest things you can use for your skin. But before we get to the "how", let's take look at the various way in which this mud can actually benefit you and your skin's health. There is a reason why so many people descend on the small Dead Sea, based in Jordan and Israel, every year and here are just a few of them:

Improves blood circulation and natural skin generation.
Fine mud grains, cleanse the skin and remove any dirt particles, impurities and toxins.
Proven to provide effective relief for skin disorders such as psoriasis, eczema, acne and wrinkles.
Moisturizes your skin and helps natural skin hydration
Gently peels away dead skin cells to reveal more youthful, healthier skin layer
Dead Sea mud has many amazing health properties, and in addition to the ones listed above also helps treat and relieve some other ailments. These ailments include arthritis, muscle stiffness and aches, rheumatism, joint inflammation and even itchy, dry skin.

So how can some simple, all natural mud be so effective at helping so many things and cleaning your skin so well at the same time? The answer lies in what you can't see - the high concentration of salts and minerals present in the mud. You see, as the Dead Sea evaporates year after year (it's not connected to any other body of water), the salt and minerals which are already present in high amounts get absorbed into the mud at the bottom of the sea. This mud is then extracted and packaged, with all the impurities removed. The minerals which are present in the mud are all natural minerals which your skin needs every day. By using Dead Sea mud, or a mud mask, you are basically feeding your skin these essential minerals. Minerals such as potassium, magnesium, sodium, bromine and calcium are all needed by your skin to help maintain the right moisture levels and hydration.

Another very powerful effect of using Dead Sea mud is the fact that as it dries, it pulls out any toxins that may be present in your skin cells from your everyday diet. This leaves the skin completely clean, refreshed and pure on top of infusing it with the minerals. At the same time it firms your skin and tightens it, giving you an exceptional anti aging benefit and leaving your skin looking younger. Because of this dual effect of exfoliating, cleansing and providing essential minerals, Dead Sea mud is able to help with so many various ailments or to simply keep you skin looking young and healthy for a long time!

Tip: Mud masks made with Dead Sea mud have also proved to be very helpful when applied to a scalp for hair roots strengthening. These masks help to stop hair loss and enhance new growth. They proved to be 4 times more effective than any other product of the kind during comparative tests with many other popular cosmetic brands.

Dead Sea Mud Mask Recipes

Dead Sea Mud Facial Recipe:

As skin cells are constantly being replaced, dead cells accumulate and slow down epidermal function. The regular use of a mud mask removes dead cells, stimulates circulation of blood in your face and brings oxygen and other essential nutrients to the skin. Using a mud mask once a week to hydrate and tone your skin is one way to encourage healthy skin. Of course you could take a trip to a spa on the Dead Sea - but you can easily create your own homemade mud facial mask, compresses or shampoos at home.

Add 1/2 tsp. of myrrh, chamomile or frankincense and add a few drops of essential oil of lavender.
If the mixture is too thin, try adding a little more mud; a mixture that's too thick may require a bit more water.
Thoroughly cleanse your face, rinse well with warm water,
Apply honey under the eyes. Dip some cotton balls into your favorite (cooled) herbal tea to place on your eyelids while you are relaxing during your treatment.
Apply the mask thinly to your face with very gentle strokes, moving the fingers away from the center of your face, except under the eyes; to cover that area stroke from the outer cheekbones inward towards the nose. Once the mask is thoroughly spread over your face, massage your face gently.
Lie down in a comfortable place or relax in a warm bath for 10-15 minutes. Place the herbal-tea cotton balls on your eyes, or use a cooled silk eye mask.
To remove the mud mask, hold a warm wet washcloth over the mask to help it soften. You can then easily wash it off thoroughly with warm water.
Application:

Place several teaspoons of mud grains in a dish, gradually add water and stir until a soft paste id formed. Spread thinly on clean skin. Let it dry; then rinse your skin.

Ingredient Benefits:

Consider your skin type: Because of its mineral and salt content, Dead Sea mud affects each skin type differently. If you have oily skin, you can use it up to three times a week; for normal skin, up to twice a week; for dry skin, no more than once a week. Dead Sea mud is easy to apply, covers the skin nicely and can be easily rinsed off. Your skin will become accustomed to the mud's stimulating ingredients - most notably, iodine, magnesium and bromide. You can also apply heated mud to relieve morning stiffness or joint inflammation.

For a mud mask: Applied to the entire body or just the face, Dead Sea mud opens clogged pores and is deep-cleaning and invigorating. It stimulates and tightens your skin, leaving it refreshed.

For an exfoliant: Apply a mask to scaly, dry parts of the body (such as knees and elbows). The dead skin will rinse off with the mask, leaving your skin moisturized and smooth.

For healthy hair: Dead Sea mud applied to your hair strengthens the roots and cleans the scalp of dandruff and oils. Your hair will be thoroughly cleaned and conditioned, soft and shiny, tangle free and full of body. Apply as you would a mask; let sit for 30 minutes; then rinse thoroughly.
