Back to work? Couldn't you have stretched this whole cancer thing in to a little more vacation time? The back to chorus part I can understand, though. What are you drinking, ginger beer? I recommend something seriously more alchoholic to burn the little buggers out of there, but then I'm no doctor.
I'm drinking anything I can get my hands on, apart from alcohol, which is verboten. I have to drink 3 litres of fluid a day, which I can only manage by introducing lots of variety.
On a different note, Steve Skinner dropped off my just-arrived Salt Lake City DVD which we watched on our brand new 40"-flat-screen-LCD-ordered-the-day-I-found-out-I-was-crook television set. If you haven't got it I recommend it - a very well put-together DVD. It has CoS singing the ballad.
I'm home now, to rainy weather and a country about to have an election. Unfortunately things have fallen apart politically while I was away. (The moment I turn my back....!). Had a great flight out of NZ, up the east coast of Northland, seeing my home town of Whangarei, and some of the bays Judy and I swam in. Too bad that the plane veered east before the most beautiful bay of all!
We have some rich and warm memories of this trip, catching up with many old friends, making new friends, and being in the loving arms of family. Blessings to you all.

P.S. I wanted to attach a photo, but i guess i can't, eh ross?
No, you can't include photos in comments. If you send me the picture or a link I can do it from here.
We have spent the last 2 evenings watching our new TV. Just amazing, especially live sport like the Australian Open tennis that's on at the moment. It actually makes you want to watch MORE television.
Hi Ross, Hello from another of the returned rellies. No election here. It's just bloody hot! 40 deg yesterday and 43 today. Keep up the good work with your treatment - you are wonderful. We love you so much. I'm melting. I'm melting......
Hi Deb. We've been glued to the Australian Open the last few days. Back to work tomorrow. Hopefully life as normal until they hit me with the chemo again (Feb 1st).
Probably a good sign that your body fought off the chemo effects as long as it did. That cancer should know better than to mess with the likes of you! Relax, read a good Timothy Ferris book, and build up your strength for what lies ahead. We're all with you here.
Hi Ross, well as you can see I arrived back safe, sound but exhuasted. I would of loved to have stayed a week up at the bay ditto Robin, he's told EVERYONE he's come in contact with about the wonderful time he had. Thank you. After we left you we went down and saw Graham and if I can figure out how to send you the photo I took I will send it to you. I went back to work today, & am so glad that I am changing careers this year...watch this space. Anyway, I'm glad to hear that it wasn't my cooking that upset your tummy and that it's settling down and look forward to the next installment. The boy's say hi. Chat soon love Maree xxx
Hey, next time you are up you can watch some cricket on a _real_ TV. It's amazing how much more enjoyable sport is when you can see what's going on. Luv R
Sorry to hear the wall paid a visit. Recommend a couple of good movies to watch. For good light value "Adaptation" or "Oh Brother where art thou" (music is great in this one!)if you haven't already seen them. Take care dearest brother.
Seen O Brother - great movie. I remember watching adapation - not sure if I finished it - it seemed pretty weird from memory. I'm currently working from home - plenty to do. Feel OK, just a bit puffed when I climg the stairs. No painkillers for 2 days now so II'm hoping the gutsache is finished.
And if the movies don't spin your wheels, there is always a game of Scrabble for a bit of fun - I might let you win this time if you're good... Fancy a game? Just send me a text if you're up for it, anytime.
The palms are a native - called Nikau. They grow on the coast of both islands. As kids we would use the cowl-shaped part of fallen fronds as a kind of sled.
All in all, not that much of a "trough" this time, it seems. Let's hope each recovery is this quick! Great pics! John and Sharon are such nice folk. Think of how much younger you'll look without a beard!
On the basis that it's probably different for each person, all I can say is that once mine starting coming out it was all over in two or three days! So if you've still got some it might be a totally other story for you... Px
